Change is only brought about by those who care enough to bring change.
Welcome to the Boycotter’s Guide, a very special page on the ccgargantua website. Here, you will find a growing list of articles that guide you to a method of peaceful yet effective protest. These articles will cover anything from self-help guides to tutorials on self-hosting and setting up and using alternative software and hardware. I’ve been thinking about doing something like this for a while. The goal is to eventually turn this into its own website and migrate everything over there.
We find ourselves at an interesting and scary point in human history. It is undeniable that, across the globe, hardships are passed down to the average man in favor of sustaining the quality of life of the rich and powerful. This non-consensual compromise prioritizes the few over the many, an unsustainable practice that mankind has seen crumble through history on numerous occasions. This comes when these systems collapse out from under themselves, or when the common man grows weary of his incompetent rulers and brings about reform with force.
If you are like me, you might have asked yourself why we don’t see such movements now. Unfortunately, the rich and powerful have learned from the past. They know how to distract us, how to suppress us, how to hide their weak points. For this reason, we must hit them where it hurts: their pockets. In a world dominated by rising price tags, we must lower them ourselves by seeking out alternative products, or even building them from scratch. We live in the age of limitless access to technology and information. Now is the time to act. Now is the time to bring reform by peaceful force.
This is a call to action. I care not of your political affiliation, as it should be obvious to anyone that these petty issues we concern ourselves with are strategically planted to divide us. I only care about your desire to bring about change. I call out to you, the 90% who are struggling to make ends meet, to join me in refusing to give any more money to those who only want more. Nobody is coming to save us, thus it is up to us to demand the quality of life we deserve. If they do not provide it to us, we must provide it to ourselves. This is the Boycotter’s Guide, and DIY is the key to a better future.
